Tulisa Contostavlos Brushes Off Tattoo Tv Complaints
Singer Tulisa Contostavlos has refused to cover up the tattoo on her arm during Britain's The X Factor amid accusations she is using the inking to promote her new perfume.
Officials at U.K. TV watchdog Ofcom have received complaints suggesting the N-Dubz star purposely plugged her scent by flashing her 'The Female Boss' tattoo at the beginning of a recent show, before taking her place on the judging panel alongside Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh.
The regulatory body is set to launch an official probe to determine whether Contostavlos' signature gesture at the start of each programme is in breach of regulations about product promotion on TV, as her first fragrance, Tfb - which stands for The Female Boss - was launched in Britain last month (Oct11).
However, Contostavlos is adamant she is doing nothing wrong by showing off her body art, telling Britain's Daily Mirror, "I was showing off my tattoo long before The X Factor. It's always been my trademark and it's always been my nickname.
"The perfume's not actually called The Female Boss - it's just Tfb. So someone wouldn't go into a shop and buy my perfume just because they'd seen my tattoo. The show told me it's OK, I can carry on doing it - and I will."
