Billy Corgan Missing Launch Of Wrestling Company
Wrestling fan Billy Corgan has been forced to miss the big launch of his own fight club on Friday (25Nov11) because he's busy on tour in Europe.
The Smashing Pumpkins star joined with two Chicago, Illinois promoters to launch independent company Resistance Pro, and the longtime ring groupie will debut his first fights on Friday (25Nov11) at a Chicago club, but he won't be there to cheer on his wrestlers.
Promoting the first showcase from his tourbus, he tells Billboard.com, "We have people who are going to work for us who are pretty well known on the indie circuit. We have to start in Chicago and build a name for ourselves and build enough of a reputation to take it other places. It's a serious endeavour."
Resistance Pro's initial roster of talent features over 20 masked and costumed wrestling personalities.
