Newswoman Fired For 'Flipping Barack Obama The Bird'
A top Russian newswoman has been fired from her TV job after showing her middle finger to cameras while reading an item about U.S. President Barack Obama.
Ren Tv channel newscaster Tatyana Limanova was talking about the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Hawaii, which Obama was hosting, when she appeared to lose her cool.
Upon mentioning the U.S. leader by name during the afternoon news broadcast on 14 November (11), the anchorwoman raised her left arm from the table and flipped her middle finger towards the TV camera.
Station bosses insist Limanova was not aware she was still live on air.
A spokesman for the privately-owned network says, "Ren Tv management considers this a gross violation of on-air discipline and unprofessionalism."
