Michael Lohan Hospitalised
Michael Lohan is to undergo heart surgery after being rushed to hospital yesterday (25.11.11).
Michael Lohan has been hospitalised.
The showbiz patriarch - who is the father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan - will undergo heart surgery today (25.11.11) after he was rushed to Lee memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida last night (24.11.11) when a check unveiled a problem with his blood pressure after he complained of chest pains.
The former Wall Street trader needs a stint inserted into his heart to correct a problem with diminished blood flow.
According to gossip website TMZ, doctors also discovered Michael - who entered court-ordered rehab on Monday (21.11.11) to undergo a 120-day anger management programme - has a blood clot on his lungs.
This is not the first time Michael, 51, has suffered heart problems.
In February, he was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on a blocked artery after he was found to have dangerously high blood pressure during a check by a nurse at his local doctor's office.
Michael was ordered to attend the anger management classes as part of his sentence for pleading no contest to four domestic violence.
In addition to the classes, Michael - who was arrested following an altercation with former fiancee Kate Major on October 25 - will spend four months working at the Teen Challenge International programme and was put on probation and his lawyer hopes he will "benefit" from the sentence.
He said: "I believe he was pleased with the result, he should be. It was a good result and it will benefit him."
