Salma Hayek Hated Heel Ban
Actress Salma Hayek was devastated when she was banned from wearing her beloved high-heels after injuring her foot.
Salma Hayek was devastated when she was banned from wearing high-heels.
The Mexican actress tore two ligaments in her foot last year and as part of her recovery she had to forgo her beloved stilettos, a wardrobe restriction she struggled with.
During an appearance on 'The David Letterman Show', the 5ft 1in beauty said: "The worst part about it is you can't wear heels. You've never been a Mexican short woman! This is tragic. I often say, had it not been for high heels, I would still be in Coatzacoalcos with 10 kids!"
Salma, 45, says doctors are keen for her to undergo surgery to correct her foot, but says she's too scared to.
She revealed: "They want me to have surgery but I'm not keen. I don't like surgery."
And it's not just surgery on her foot that Salma is worried about.
The 45-year-old star - who has a four-year-old daughter Valentina, with husband Francois-Henri Pinault - says cosmetic surgery gives her the "heebie-jeebies".
She said: "When I was 16, I looked 19. When I was 19, I looked 25. But I got stuck on 25 - thank God! - until I was 35. So that was good. But it's also important to take care of your skin because if you're not careful, one day you'll wake up and a spider will have taken over your face and you'll be full of lines.
"I have no Botox. The thought of a needle coming to my forehead, it really gives me the heebie-jeebies. So I'd rather put on my creams. It's fun, it smells good, and it's relaxing. Am I opposed to doing it later? I don't know. I want to see how far I can go."
