Alice Cooper: 'Legalise Drugs And Ban Booze'
Rocker Alice Cooper has called for governments to legalise hard drugs - and slap a ban on booze and tobacco instead.
The School's Out hitmaker battled alcoholism in the 1970s but turned his back on drinking for good in 1983.
He admits he steered clear of drugs during his heyday because harsh punishments were being handed down for possession of illegal substances - but he's adamant alcohol and tobacco are far more dangerous and the law needs to be reversed.
Cooper tells British magazine OK!, "The last thing I ever wanted to do was go to jail, and back then you didn't just get a slap on the wrist if you were caught with drugs. They put you straight in jail.
"You know, looking at statistics, I think drugs should be legal and alcohol and cigarettes should be illegal. They kill more than drugs do."
