Abc - Disney/Abc In Streaming Deals With Netflix, Amazon
Not playing favorites, Disney/ABC Television Group, has renewed and expanded its streaming deals with Netflix and Amazon. They will allow the two online rivals to offer hundreds of Disney-produced TV shows from ABC-TV, ABC Family and the Disney Channel, raging from Desperate Housewives to Hannah Montana . "We are thrilled to broaden the scope and extend the terms or our relationship," Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, said in a statement. Amazon, which plans to release a low-cost color version of its Kindle tablet this month, said that the deal will enhance that device. "We're working hard to add even more selection for Kindle Fire customers and Prime members leading up to the holidays and expect to have nearly 13,000 titles available in Prime instant video by early next year," Brad Beale, director of video content acquisition for Amazon, said in a separate statement.
