Eminem Plays First Aussie Show In 10 Years
Rap superstar Eminem returned to the stage Down Under on Thursday (01Dec11) for the first time in a decade.
The Stan hitmaker last performed in Australia as part of his 2001 tour, when he was battling addiction to prescription pills.
He has revealed his drug issues wiped out huge parts of his memory, but he told the 65,000 revellers at the sold-out event at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium that he was determined to remember his 2011 gig.
He said, "Tonight I'm gonna remember this s**t this time."
In a nod to his rehab stint, the message "You're all here to witness Eminem's recovery!" was emblazoned across the stage screens.
Eminem thrilled the crowd with a setlist of hits, including The Real Slim Shady, My Name Is and Without Me.
