Usher - Another Arrest In News Corp's Hacking Scandal
A 17th person has been arrested in connection with the telephone hacking scandal that has embroiled Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. Bethany Usher, a former reporter for News of the World and now a senior lecturer in media and journalism at Teesside University, was detained "on suspicion of conspiracy to intercept voicemail messages," Scotland Yard said. Released on bail, Usher denied that she had been involved in telephone hacking when she worked for the tabloid. However, she said, she decided to leave the NoW after she became "disillusioned through working with some who saw human suffering simply as fodder to fill pages."
