Madonna, 53, To Perform At Super Bowl Half Time Show

Madonna will perform during the half time interval at next year's Super Bowl at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The superstar singer, 53, will take to the stage on Sunday 5 February with more than 150 million viewers expected to tune in from around the world, according to Bbc News.

A hugely prestigious performance spot, the half time show has seen the likes of Prince, the Rolling Stones and U2 entertain the Super Bowl crowd, with R&B group the Black Eyed Peas doing the honors at this year's show. Madonna's performance will coincide with the release of her 12th studio album and it's likely to be a typically ostentatious affair featuring a display from Cirque du Soleil. In 2004, Cbs were heavily criticized after pop star Janet Jackson suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her half time performance with Justin Timberlake. There were suspicions that the incident was merely a publicity stunt, given that Timberlake had sang the lyric "I'm gonna have you naked by the end of this song" just seconds before.

Madonna's last album Hard Candy' was released in 2008, and the new record will be her first since parting ways with Warner Brothers - she subsequently signed a new deal with entertainment company Live Nation. She hit the headlines earlier this month after a demo version of her new single 'Give Me All Your Love' leaked online months ahead of its release date. Her manager Guy Oseary later raged on Twitter, "Madonna told me this morning 'my true fans wouldn't do this'. Whoever is responsible for this leak, we ask that you please stop".
