Joely Richardson has revealed she hopes her daughter Daisy Bevan will follow in her footsteps and become an actress.
Joely Richardson wants her daughter to become an actress so the family acting tradition doesn't "die out".
The 'Nip/Tuck' star comes from a long line of actors and actresses, including grandfather Sir Michael Redgrave, mother Vanessa Redgrave and late sister Natasha Richardson and would like her 19-year-old daughter, Daisy Bevan, to follow in their footsteps.
She said: "Well lately I've said- and it's a joke laced with truth- 'Come on, let's just take it one more generation,' which is horrible of me! But there is a small voice inside me saying, 'Let it not die out here.'"
Over the past few years Joely has faced much tragedy, with the 2009 death of her sister, Natasha, in a skiing accident, followed by the brother and sister of her mother, Corin and Lynn Redgrave, who died within weeks of each other, and she admitted the family are still reeling from them all.
Joely added: "I'm tempted to say Natasha's death was life-changing. That's such a weird juxtaposition, but in every sense it was... Everything was levelled when she left us. Then, just as we were getting over the shock of that first year, Corin died, they Lynnie. We were just reeling."
