Joe Francis Threatens Lawsuit Against Madonna Over "Girls Gone Wild" Song » Celeb News

Sultan of sleaze Joe Francis is threatening to sue Madonna if she performs her new song referred to as "Girls Gone Wild" at the Super Bowl tomorrow. Yes, really.

Francis, creator of the infamous women Gone Wild franchise, during which he films drunk women exposing themselves on spring break, is seemingly dead serious.

He has issued a stop and desist letter claiming he can take legal action against Madonna if she sings that exact song at this weekend's festivities.

The letter (sent to Madonna, NBC Universal and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell) from Francis' Nevada lawyer David Houston, states that:

"[Francis] became awake to Madonna's new track based mostly on the presales of her new album MDNA, because the #1 song on the album is 'Girls Gone Wild.'"

"Mr. Francis and women Gone Wild have worked tirelessly for an far more than twenty years to create his whole and to guard his trademark women Gone Wild."

"Girls Gone Wild's trade identity and trademark are each very valuable assets that my shopper should defend vigorously," the letter continues.

The letter claims Madonna has "violated Federal and State trademark laws by creating unauthorized use of Mr. Francis' trademark women Gone Wild."

For what it's price, it's like she wasn't attending to sing it anyway.

Madonna's set list reportedly includes "Give Me all of your Luvin'," "Ray of Light" and "Vogue," beside "Music" and "Holiday." No GGW action.

Houston tells E! News relating to the set list, "That would be a wise alternative on her half." smart luck obtaining it off the album and iTunes, though.
