‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’ are like an overused casino slot machine. Someone won on it ONE time, but people keep desperately playing it, only to lose, over and over and over.

Which is exactly why it’s awesome television! I mean, the trailer for the ‘The Bachelor’ just features a woman sobbing for like ten seconds. If that doesn’t get you hooked, you’re a damn robot.

But hey, maybe there’s hope for Emily Maynard, the new star of ‘The Bachelorette.’

You remember Maynard. She was the one Brad Womack proposed to on ABC’s The Bachelor in March 2011. Well believe it or not, they broke up, but that’s not going to keep Emily from pulling down that slot handle.

The 25 year-old single mom has signed on for the shows eighth season and will begin filming in March. ABC has asked her to participate in the past, and now, according to a friend, Maynard has had a “change of heart.”

“She’s looking for a man, not a little boy.”

Let’s hope she has more criteria than that.

So The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are usually filmed in a big ol’ mansion in Los Angeles. But this season, they’re relocating to Maynard’s home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“The guys will be flying to her. We’re switching things up a bit,” an insider reveals.

After her split from Womack, Maynard reportedly received a bunch of angry phone calls from him.

"I wanted to be married and have more children, but I doubted he was going to still want to be with me. I need that reassurance that he'd want to be with me six weeks down the road much less six years."
