Why it Works: Lara Stone and David Walliams
Dutch megamodel Lara Stone is a regular in the Why it Works realm—we've paid respect to her sleek marketgoing look in this very space. And we simply couldn't let her couple coordination abilities go unsung after seeing her step out with actor/comedian hubby David Walliams in London.
The Blazers: Since looking like her lovably scruffy dog is an impossibility for the gap-toothed siren, it appears she's opted to look like her husband. And the "hers" blazer to his "his" is clearly the belle of this ball. An immaculate white structured shoulder number with a quiet sheen to its lapel, this dinner jacket instantly morphs any ensemble into a red carpet affair. Meanwhile her hubby's grey-brown selection does the gentlemanly thing: looks good in the background.
The Pants: Tight, faded and patchy in a pleasing way, Stone's skinnies make for a downtown counterpoint to Walliams' sensible uptown slim-cut chinos. Topped with a tight-fitting black tank (the better to play off Walliams' Tom Ford-like black button down), the look is reformed rocker chick made good.
The Accessories: You're not anyone in this town if you don't laugh in the face of health and safety (try boring and inconvenient!) and schlep your dog to the dinner table. But what really separates you from the rest of the A-list, and adds a light-hearted wink to your heavy-hitter power couple moving tableau, is using your Birkin bag as a tote for Fluffy's toys. That's when you know you've made it.
