Elizabeth Banks admits surrogacy was a ''big leap'' of faith, but her and husband Max Handelman are delighted to have nine-month-old son Felix in their lives.
Elizabeth Banks admits surrogacy was a "big leap" of faith.
The '30 Rock' star became a first-time mother to nine-month-old son Felix - who she raises with husband Max Handelman - thanks to a gestational surrogate and the couple are delighted with the results, despite finding the initial choice whether or not to go through the process anything but easy.
Elizabeth told Lucky magazine: "It's a big leap, inviting this person into your life to do this amazing, important thing for you.
"And it's hard losing that kind of control. But our surrogate is so extraordinary, and she's still in our lives. She's like an auntie."
The 38-year-old actress is already planning another leap of faith when her "fierce and fearless" Felix is older - by taking him skydiving.
She added: "My plan is that when Felix is 15, we'll go skydiving together. I want to be that mom. The one who takes her kid skydiving."
