R&B Singer Vesta Williams Found Dead, Various news sources are reporting that 80′s R&B singer Vesta Williams was found dead in her California hotel room last night. According to newsone.com, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph said on Twitter, “I am so deeply saddened at the passing of my diva friend Vesta Williams. RIP Vesta.”News sources have reported the singer was 48 years old, but Williams can be seen in a 2010 interview saying she was 53.

Williams had a big hit with “Congratulations,” a song about a woman who is distraught upon learning that her former lover is getting married.

According to TMZ, multiple bottles of prescription pills were found in the El Segundo, CA hotel room where R&B singer Vesta Williams died.

Sources tell the site that Vesta’s death is being treated as either an accident or suicide, but not a homicide.
