Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis are Separated and 'Sad'

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have been dating so long, I almost forgot they were dating. For the past nearly 14 years, they’ve managed to keep themselves out of headlines, living in a quiet little place in France with their brood.
But multiple sources are now telling PEOPLE that the relationship is over. Apparently, the two have been living separately and are rarely in the same city. “It’s so sad,” one insider said.
The two are parents to Lily-Rose, 12 and 9 year-old Jack.
Just last year, Paradis revealed the secret to their relationship success saying:
"The fact that we're not together every day plays a big part in keeping our relationship stable,"
So basically, the secret to being together was not being together. Maybe we should’ve seen this coming?
"We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other... You're really lucky if you find someone you can trust when you spend time apart."
The couple might have taken cues from Tim Burton, who actually lives in a completely separated (but connected) house with his partner, Helena Bonham Carter. I guess it works for them, but I don’t see that working for many people.
Other celebs who live separately from their significant others include Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham as well as Dolly Parton and Carl Dean.
