Celebrate New Year With Zooey Deschanel And Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-levitt, the stars of indie-comedy 500 Days of Summer, have recorded a New Year's Eve ditty, which went viral on the internet within hours. A YouTube of the recently single Deschanel and close friend Levitt went live this week, and quickly began to spread across social networking sites, reports the New York Daily News.
In the video, the quirky pair sing 'What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?' while Zooey strums a ukulele. Though Joseph impresses by staying in tune, fans of Deschanel will already be familiar with her soothing vocals - she released two albums with her She & Him band mate M.WARD. By Friday afternoon (December 30, 2011), the video had amassed an astonishing 2.2 million hits on YouTube - making it one of the more popular viral videos in recent months. The duo are no strangers to one another - as well as starring as the off-beat couple in 500 Days of Summer, Levitt also played Deschanel's brief love interest in an episode of her sitcom 'New Girl'. Reaction to the YouTube video was overwhelmingly positive, with one user gushing, "This made me so happy. It's so adorable".
The actress recently announced she is to divorce from Death Cab For Cutie rocker Ben Gibbard - the couple married in Seattle, Washington, back in September 2009. Deschanel recently scored a surprising Golden Globe nomination for her role in New Girl.
