Gerard Butler suffered an on-set injury, according to his rep. Butler was reportedly hurt while filming his latest flick, Of Men and Mavericks. The accident occurred during a surfing scene at the Mavericks, a dangerous surfing location in California.
As Butler was preparing to film the scene on Sunday, he was thrown from the surfboard he was on. At the time, the waves were are least 12 -feet high.
He was trapped underwater for two consecutive waves, then managed to swim up to the the surface.
The 42-year-old was rescued by a jet ski then hauled off to Stanford Medical Center by ambulance.
Butler’s rep says, “He’s fine. Very scary. They brought him to Stanford University. More scary than anything. For precatuation, we all wanted him checked out after it all happened. Came out with flying colors.”
On a side note – and possibly the most important take away from this post- why in the hell is Gerard trying to look like Chad Kroeger
