The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Boy George and Jarvis Cocker helped raise more than $629,000 (£393,000) for charity at a star-studded gala in London on Monday (21Nov11).

Gillian Anderson, Eva Herzigova and Meg Mathews were among the celebrities who turned out for the Hoping Foundation Benefit Evening at the Cafe de Paris club.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers pulled in the biggest donation of the night after one guest offered up $104,000 (£65,000) to hear the rockers play their hits By The Way and Californication.

Supermodel Kate Moss also got into the giving spirit by pledging $32,000 (£20,000) to hear Boy George belt out his Culture Club classic Do You Really Want To Hurt Me.

Proceeds raised at the event will be donated to children in Palestinian refugee camps.
